Barack Obama and his cheerleaders are at it again. The State of the Union address started off with at least six lies; the grinning idiot, Joe Biden, and the House Speaker getting ready to cry again. Let’s face it, the bigger the lie, the more people believe it. I can’t believe America is buying this. All he’s talking is more pie in the sky, telling jokes, and making fun of America’s plight.
The Depression held on throughout most of the forties. My dad, Junior, was an old Navy guy who remembered it well. He told all of us that he didn’t have a turkey dinner for Thanksgiving until he had joined the Navy. I didn’t understand that level of poverty and I wish that I had listened closer. One thing that I do remember that he said is: “If you don’t have a job or a way to make a living, you are in a Depression. It doesn’t matter what the employment numbers say.” And it’s true. I estimate that about a third of our nation is living in a Depression, but as long as the politicians keep getting their paychecks, they don’t care.
As long as they can spend taxpayers’ hard-earned dollars carte blanche, they won’t ever care. Cut off their paychecks and their millions, and we might get their attention. But, when you’re living in a Depression, how do you do that? When people are striving to feed their children everyday and keep a roof over their heads, how do you defend yourself against the powers that be? I rarely make plans anymore. I just try to get through the 24 hours in front of me.
I’ve felt that our country has been past the point of no return for a long time. However, I think it can be fixed if enough of the right people were placed in strategic places to undo everything that the Left has done. This would mean going back to the vision that our Forefathers foresaw so long ago. I worry about America’s youth. Their values are so different from their previous generations. The Left is taking away their belief in God, their flag and patriotism, respect for themselves and others, and their sense of right and wrong. We know what we believe in; what will they have to believe in, especially when they don’t know how?
Here’s what Kevin Williamson, a writer, has to say about the upcoming State of the Union speech:
“The annual State of the Union pageant is a hideous, dispiriting, ugly, monotonous, un-American, un-republican, anti-democratic, dreary, backward, monarchical, retch-inducing, depressing, shameful, crypto-imperial display of official self-aggrandizement and piteous toadying, a black Mass during which every unholy order of teacup totalitarian and cringing courtier gathers under the towering dome of a faux-Roman temple to listen to a speech with no content given by a man with no content, to rise and to be seated as is called for by the order of worship — it is a wonder they have not started genuflecting — with one wretched representative of their number squirreled away in some well-upholstered Washington hidey-hole in order to preserve the illusion that those gathered constitute a special class of humanity without whom we could not live.”
He’s not far off. Apparently, Joe Biden can’t even listen to the speech with a straight face. Obama is spouting lie after lie and the Democrats are applauding him lie after lie. Nobody’s fooled by any of them. He proudly displays one woman from Arizona who got health insurance; not even a passing mention about the five million who lost theirs. I’m going to look for a Gilligan’s Island rerun.
