Today we received a copy of an “amendment” Dr. Liza Hiles (right) (WV has no Medical License on file for Dr. H
iles) wrote and had placed in Larry’s medical records after being contacted over her and two other
Dr.’s multiple reports where they stated Larry was diagnosed HIV+. According to Dr. Hiles amendment she did discuss it with Dr. Timothy DeVine (left). Dr. Hiles amendment is simply not enough nor is the letter (also received today) from Marilys Gilbert, WVUH-East Director of Quality and Risk Management where the hospital apologizes for the diagnosis but at them same time implies it is possible Larry is HIV+.
After publishing
Dr’s Falsely Diagnosed Larry HIV+ Based On Claims of Sheriff Deputy???
Mrs. Gilbert and WVUH-East Jefferson Memorial Hospital Administrator Christina Coad both visited this site and archived the article. The below shows both Mrs. Gilbert and Mrs. Coad archiving the page.

The amendment by Dr. Hiles & Mrs. Gilbert’s letter admits that no test was conducted to justify the diagnosis but then goes on to imply that it is possible Larry is HIV+ as well as to imply Larry said he was HIV+! This last part is beyond acceptable and Larry has filed complaints with the West Virginia Board of Medicine against all three Doctor’s named in
Did These Doctors diagnose Larry HIV+ based on Internet Postings?
For Dr. Hiles to even attempt to state “when I interviewed the Patient for admission…” she was somehow told Larry was HIV+ is beyond words. Considering Larry was not talking to anyone.
In addition the same records allege that “a court order was obtained authorizing medical treatment” is interesting considering that no such ORDER is in the Court file or the Medical Records.
The Hospital however has failed to provide copies of the chart notes by nursing staff despite having been specifically requested to provide those documents. We did receive the records requested from the Ambulance Company. We were surprised to find according to the Paramedic’s reports and the Company’s formal reports they claim they transported Larry to the hospital on September 29, 2010 (Larry had already been in the hospital a full 24 hours.)

your stamina in the face of such relentless evil against you continues to inspire, God bless you, Larry
Just read the Dr. Liza Hiles amendment. She says there are "many" documents asserting your HIV positive status (now proven false). More importantly, there doesn't seem to have been an investigation, that was later reported to Hiles, into where all these falsified documents came from! Someone might make the same mistake *again*.
I might report the entire matter to the head of compliance at that hospital. Then, if that person refuses to investigate and provide you with results, you may have a valuable lawsuit.
Right now, it's my opinion that this hospital doesn't care when it makes big mistakes!
Please keep us posted!

"many" documents that she wrote!
[...] Hmmm. Interesting. Raising my nose to the air, I think I get the faint scent of a lawsuit. Dr’s & West Virginia University Hospital-East Administrators Apologies Not Enough [...]
Larry-
So sorry you had to go through this HIV ordeal with Dr. Timothy DeVine and Dr. Liza Hiles. I don't know what happened.
The hospital ended up giving you the worst of all possible answers – they don't know where the HIV diagnosis came from. If they don't know what caused the problem they can't fix it, and it may readily happen again.
In the future, someone may receive dangerous treatment for a disease they don't have. An HIV diagnosis is a serious matter.
Also, it's my belief you should mention Dr. Liza Hiles to the proper medical authority (state licensing board?), for not having her medical license readily available. I believe these kinds of oversights may sometimes indicate deeper issues – the resolution of which will greatly benefit the public. It will also benefit Dr. Hiles in that she can clearly display her medical license for the comfort of her patients.
Carry on, you are a more determined advocate for the truth than anyone I've ever seen.
Best,
J
I could not agree with you more. Not only that, but they claim they cannot remove it from the medical records!
Doctor’s and Hospital’s only seem to respond when they are sued. I am certain the only reason we were able to get such a quick response is the fact that we published the article.
